WILLIE B. GALLOWAY, 89 September 5, 1931 - June 2, 2021 Willie (Bill) Galloway went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 2, 2021. Bill was born September 5, 1931, in Sunflower County, Mississippi to the late George Galloway and Mary Hampton. Bill was preceded in death by his sisters Rutha Lee Walls and Rosa Lee Temple, brother George Galloway and daughters Patricia Galloway and Christine Galloway. Bill was educated in the Public School System of East St. Louis, IL, and went on to attend DePaul University. He proudly served in the U. S. Army from 1948 to 1952 and went on to work for the federal government from which he retired in 1986. He loved to travel, especially cruising, and he was a member of the Dale City Lions Club where he held many offices including President and Chaplain. His service to community was an important part of his life and his legacy will live on for generations. Bill leaves behind a legacy of loving family and friends who cherish his memory including his loving wife Connie Galloway of Dumfries, VA, his nine children: Pamela Galloway TX, Cynthia Williams IL, Willie Galloway Jr., CA (Rizz Marie), Anita Merriweather IL (James), Robert Galloway GA (Crystal), Gail Meeks IL (Curtis), Kathryn Davis TX (Milton), Andrea Patterson VA (James), and Carla Dengler VA (David). He is also survived by his close friend and the mother of his children, Juanita Galloway Johnson IL, his 19 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be held on June 9, 2021, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Dale City, VA followed by burial at Quantico National Cemetery. We are incredibly grateful for all the expressions of love that has been shown to the family during this difficult time. I wish so much you wouldn’t cry the way you did today, while thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say. I know how much you love me as much as I love you; And each time that you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too. When tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart.
