Terry T. Perry Sr.

Terry T. Perry Sr., 62 of Woodbridge, VA departed this life suddenly on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at his residence. Terry was a graduate of Bertie Senior High School in Windsor, NC and East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. While at East Carolina University, Terry ran track and field from 1976-1978. He was also a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. After graduation, Terry served four and a half years of active duty service in the U.S. Army. In 1987, Terry began working at the Directorate of Engineering and Housing (DEH). Terry worked in various government agencies, his last position was with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) as a Contracting Officer at Fort Belvoir, VA for twenty years. Terry worked a total of 38 years for the federal government. Terry had a passion for racing Mustang cars. His favorite pass-time was going fishing with his brothers and sons on crowded fishing piers in Norfolk, VA and the Carolinas. Terry also enjoyed many family gatherings during the summertime and the holidays. Born on February 21, 1958, he was the son of the late James M. Perry Sr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Marshall Perry, grandmother Mary Louise Perry, sister, Zina B. Lett, and his son, SGT. Terry T. Perry Jr. Terry leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Maureen T. Perry; his four sons; SPC. Marshal L. Perry, Joseph M. Perry, Andrew A. Perry, and Michael A. Perry; one daughter, DeLisa N. Perry. His mother Rose Banks and step-father Kenneth Banks of Norfolk, VA; two sisters, Sylvia Hettiarachchi of Norfolk VA; Janet Patterson of Ahoskie, NC; two brothers, James Perry Jr. (Davaline) of Chesapeake, VA, Rodney Perry (Guna) of Manassas, Va; four uncles, Willie Rankins Jr., Roosevelt Rankins, Rudolph Rankins all of Middletown, CT and James Rankins of Norfolk, VA; four aunts, Leatha Holloman, Elsie Hoggard, Shirley Jackson all of Middletown, CT and Maggie Johnson of Colerain, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Friends and family may view on Sunday, November 22, 2020 from 12:00p.m. to 3:00p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home located at 3200 Golansky Blvd, Woodbridge, VA. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the Zion Hill Baptist Church located at 2321 NC-45 N, Colerain, NC. There will be a viewing from 11:00a.m. to 11:45a.m. The funeral service will begin at 12:00p.m.
