Patricia Ann Tate

Reverend Patricia Ann Tate (Ret.), 79, passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, after a short but bravely fought battle with cancer. She passed peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. Patricia was born in the living room of her aunt’s home in Horden, England, the eldest daughter of Alwyn Thomas Harrison and Hilda Harrison. She was a loving sister to her younger brother, David. From an early age, Patricia displayed strength, grace, and a deep love for family that would define her life. At the age of 19, Patricia married the love of her life, Gary Tate. They shared a devoted marriage of 60 years, walking hand in hand through life and ministry. Her beloved husband went to be with the Lord in July of 2020, and Patricia faithfully carried his memory and legacy forward. Patricia worked as a legal secretary for many years, a role that reflected her diligence, integrity, and faithfulness. Later, she attended Bible school alongside her husband, answering the call God placed on their lives. Together, they served in ministry, where Patricia became Associate Pastor at the Cornerstone Christian Center in Evenwood for six years. Alongside her husband, she faithfully taught the richness of God’s Word, touching many lives through her wisdom, compassion, and unwavering faith. Family and faith were the most important parts of Patricia’s life. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family and reading the Word of God. She was a powerful prayer warrior who devoted countless hours to prayer and Scripture. Patricia was an anointed prophet of God, faithfully listening for His voice and boldly standing on His truth. Her life was a living testimony of devotion, obedience, and deep spiritual strength. Patricia is survived by her children: Michele Hilf and her husband Daniel Hilf of Hampstead, North Carolina; Sharon Tate-Diaz and her husband Carlos Diaz of Woodbridge, Virginia; and her son Mark Tate of Woodbridge, Virginia. She also leaves behind her precious grandchildren—Hannah and Ben Fluke, Adam Hilf, Christina Hilf, and Nathaniel Hilf—and four cherished great-grandchildren: Adrian, Caleb, Ana Grace, and Rebecca Joy. Patricia will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, yet her family rejoices in the assurance that she is now reunited with her Savior and her beloved husband. Her legacy of faith, prayer, love for God’s Word, and devotion to family will continue to live on through generations. “In quietness and trust is your strength.” Isaiah 30:15
