Kelli Renee Hash (Johnson)

Kelli Renee Hash (Johnson), 42, of Woodbridge, Virginia, passed away on August 29, 2026, surrounded by family and loved ones. Born on July 5, 1984, in Fairfax, Virginia, Kelli was the daughter of Steven Hash and Karen Way Scherer. She grew up in Montclair, Virginia, alongside her sister, Jamie Hash, and she graduated from C.D. Hylton High School in 2002. More than anything, Kelli’s life was centered on her family. She was the devoted mother of Amiya Lenai Johnson and Devin Rashaun Johnson, and there was no role she cherished more. She loved them fiercely, celebrated their accomplishments, encouraged them, and took tremendous pride in the people they have become. They are, without question, the greatest joys of her life and her proudest legacy. Kelli cherished the moments that brought the people she loved together—the birthdays and holidays, familiar traditions, family gatherings, and the ordinary days spent in one another’s company. Whether finding a clever new hiding place for the Elf on the Shelf, baking an elaborate themed birthday cake, or stepping up to care for a loved one when she was needed, Kelli understood that love could be found as much in small traditions and celebrations as in showing up when someone needed her. To those who knew her best, she was not simply a mother, daughter, or sister; she was part of the fabric of their everyday lives. The countless stories, traditions, and ordinary moments they shared now carry extraordinary meaning. Kelli is survived by her children, Amiya and Devin; her parents, Steve Hash and Karen (Bill) Scherer; her sister, Jamie Hash and her wife Emily Gerson; her step-sisters, Danielle Miers and Carisa (Vic) Bohn; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and her dog, Precious. She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Sharon Hash; her grandparents, Edward and Edna Way and Robert and Alma Hash; her uncles, Ray Hash and Kevin Way; and her friend, Laura Richter. Her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but Kelli’s life will continue to be reflected in those she loved so deeply—especially in her children, who carry forward so much of her spirit, her love, and her story. She is profoundly missed and will be remembered with love by all those fortunate enough to have shared in her life. A celebration of Kelli’s life will be held at a later date.
