Jeanne Ann Palmer

Jeanne Ann Palmer, age 79, passed away peacefully at her home in Woodbridge, Virginia on Tuesday, September 08, 2026. Jeanne was born on April 13, 1947, in Great Bend, Kansas, to Victor Martin Schuckman and Philomena Haas Shuckman. She grew up in Hays, Kansas and graduated from Marian Catholic High School in 1965. Being a grandmother became one of the greatest joys of her life. She treasured every moment with her grandchildren, their laughter, milestones, and everyday moments together. Watching them grow and being part of their lives brought her immeasurable love, purpose, and happiness. Being their grandmother was a blessing she cherished deeply. She found great joy in coaching and being around the softball field. She loved learning the game and sharing that knowledge with her players, believing softball taught lessons far beyond the field—confidence, perseverance, teamwork, and self-belief. Her strong Catholic faith was a constant source of comfort, hope, and strength throughout a life that was not always easy. She leaned on God’s grace and mercy, trusting in His love and forgiveness. Through her faith, she found peace and gratitude for the blessings in her life, knowing that God’s mercy was always there to carry her through. For 50 years, she and Mike shared their lives together. Their love and journey created a lifetime of memories, and now they are reunited in Heaven, together once again. Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents, Victor Martin Schuckman and Philomena Haas Schuckman, her siblings Joseph Shuckman, Lawrence Shuckman, James Shuckman, Mary Shuckman and her children, Sarah Brackney and James Brackney. She is survived by her children Charley Brackney (Stacey), John Brackney (Amanda), Chris Brackney, Kate Brackney, Ariel Liese (Bill), David Brackney, Michael R. Palmer, Kelly Cannady (Jeff), Amy Miller (Andy), Lesley Palmer and Bryan Palmer. She also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Jeanne is also survived by her brothers Neil Shuckman, Fred Shuckman and her sister Pauline Dreiling. A visitation will take place at 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 AM on September 17, 2026. The event will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located at 12975 Purcell Rd, Manassas, VA 20112. Friends and family are warmly invited to gather and celebrate her life during this meaningful occasion. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Road, Triangle, VA 22172. Pallbearers: Charley Brackney, John Brackney, Chris Brackney, David Brackney, Michael Palmer and Bryan Palmer. The family requests that flowers/plants be delivered directly to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Jeanne will be deeply missed, but her love and the memories she created will live on forever in the hearts of her family and grandchildren.
