James Michael Meyer

James Michael Meyer 76, of Dumfries, VA, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 6, 2025, after a courageous battle with stage 4 colon cancer. Born in Corning, NY on March 25, 1949, to Eileen and James Meyer, he was a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. Mike graduated from Fairfax High School and went on to earn an Associate of Science in Business Administration from Northern Virginia Community College. His early years with the Fairfax County Fire Department were some of the most thrilling and rewarding of his life. He always spoke of those years with pride, cherishing the opportunity to help and save others. For him, it wasn’t just a job it was a calling he embraced with passion and excitement. Following his time in public service, Mike went on to work at Minutemen Press International, where he served as the Vice President of Sales and Production for 12 years. Later, following in his father’s footsteps, he opened his own company, Lithographic Technologies, where he served as President and CEO for 32 years before selling the business and retiring. Even in retirement, Mike stayed sharp and active. He became an accomplished day trader, always knowing just where to invest and following the stock market with passion and expertise. His knowledge and success in this area brought him much joy. He was preceded in death by his father, James (Jimmy) H. Meyer, and his brother, Gerard (Jerry) Meyer. He is survived by his loving daughter, Alicia Myers, son-in-law Michel Myers, and his two grandsons, Reece and Jayce Myers. He is also survived by his devoted mother, Eileen Meyer, as well as his siblings: Jack Meyer (Kathy, Jessica, Molly, Jimmy), Rick Meyer (Travis and Cody), Maureen Meyer (Brian and Stephanie), Marilee Gibson (Christina, Bella, and Summer), and Melinda Tilghman (Sarah). Mike was known for his quick wit, unwavering dedication to his family, and his zest for life. His kindness, wisdom, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A visitation will be held on April 13, 2025 from 1-2:00 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd., Woodbridge, VA 22192, where a memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ars Moriendi Services https://www.amshome.org in his honor.
