Jacqueline "Jackie" Marguerite Gallahan

On June 30, 2022, surrounded by her loving family, the Lord called Jacqueline “Jackie” Marguerite Gallahan home. Jackie was 82 years old, born June 20, 1940, in Tacoma, Washington. This year she celebrated her 64th wedding anniversary to her loving husband and love of her life, Gerald “Jerry” Gallahan. The two met in Tacoma, Washington and moved to Virginia in June 1958 to start their life together. Jackie was a child care provider for 30 plus years. She cared for over 100 children and treated each of them as if they were her own. Jackie loved to spend time with her family. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She got so much joy at seeing her family opening a room full of gifts. She loved family vacations, especially those spent at the beach. In her younger years, she would be right out there in the beach jumping those waves. She treasured birthdays. She always made sure if it was your birthday, you were sent a birthday card for your special day. She loved to decorate cakes, crochet, sew, color on her IPAD and do word search puzzles. She loved her electronic games. You name it, she had it. She was an avid reader and could spend hours reading. She loved her James Patterson books. She could spend unlimited hours at Barnes & Noble browsing through the books. Collecting dolls was a favorite pastime of hers. Each and every doll held a special meaning to her. Jackie had a heart of gold. She would brighten up the room every time she walked in. Her smile and laughter were so contagious it would immediately make your day better. She was truly an angel to all of us. Jackie is survived by her husband, Jerry Gallahan; children Marguerite “Margie” Gallahan, Frank Gallahan, Teresa Williamson (spouse Patrick), and Kenneth Gallahan (spouse Tammy); grandchildren Tiffany Baxter (spouse Kenny), Mike Weakley (spouse Miranda), Katlyn Ward, Isabella Gallahan, Bryce Gallahan, Victoria Gallahan, and Hunter Gallahan; great-grandchildren Jaxson Baxter, Barrett Baxter, and Hudson Weakley; and step-sisters Rita Druckrey, Juanita Hagen and Verna Peterkin. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her step-mother Olive Rettke, step-brothers Lawrence Woods and Jerry Woods, step-sister Wilma Thorson and grandson Jeremiah Gallahan. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022 at Miller Funeral Home and Crematory, 3200 Golansky Blvd, Woodbridge, VA. The viewing will be held at 10:30am. The service will begin at 11:30am. The interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Road, Triangle, VA at 1:30pm.
