Patricia Ann Donahue

Patricia Ann Donahue (Patti, Pat), a cherished educator and devoted member of her community, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2024, at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA, at the age of 76. Pat dedicated her life to the education of young minds, serving with passion and commitment as the librarian at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School in Woodbridge in the late 80s. She then worked for Prince William County Schools as a librarian and then a technology specialist. She finished her career as the first Supervisor of Instructional Technology for PWCS until her retirement in 2010. Her legacy in education continues to inspire both colleagues and students alike. A woman of deep faith, Patti was an active and beloved member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Lake Ridge, VA, since its opening in 1976, where she contributed to numerous community and spiritual activities. She is preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Rozelle (Simcox) Goins. She leaves behind her loving husband of 53 years, Vincent Donahue, with whom she built a beautiful life filled with love, faith, and family. Patti is also survived by her children and their spouses: Daniel and Melba Donahue, Kevin and Jennifer Donahue, Elizabeth and Jasper Saunders, and Rebekah and Stephen Hinson. Her legacy extends through her grandchildren. She was the greatest Mimi ever to Abigail, Isabelle, Brendan, Adam, William, Patrick, Christian, and Vincent, who were the lights of her life. She is also remembered by her brother, Kenneth Goins, and sister, Janet Sassaman, along with a host of extended family and friends who were touched by her kindness and warmth. Patricia's life will be honored with a viewing on Saturday, September 14th, from 3 PM to 6 PM at Miller Funeral Home, located at 3200 Golansky Blvd, Woodbridge, VA. A funeral Mass celebrating her life will take place on Monday, September 16th, at 11 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 12807 Valleywood Drive, Lake Ridge, VA. A reception will follow where stories and memories of Patti will be shared among those who loved her. Patricia Donahue's spirit, her dedication to her family, her faith, and her community will continue to inspire all who knew her.
