    Kathryn Jane Barnes Jones

    November 24, 2020

After a lifetime filled with love, family, and friends, and a hard-fought battle with cancer, Kathryn (Kathi) Jane Barnes Jones went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. Kathi is survived by her husband and soulmate, George Davis Jones, her daughter Jessica Jones Magyar (Ryan), her son Daniel Jones (Taylor), and four grandchildren that were the joy of her life: Landon, Aubree, Aleana and Mia. She also leaves her mother, Jane Barnes and two sisters, Sue Barnes (Wendy) and Cindy Dishner. Kathi was predeceased by her father, P. Sheffield Barnes. Kathi is also survived by two beloved step-children, Beth Robles and her family and Chris Jones, many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-inlaw and cousins. Family was everything to her. Kathi was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School where she enjoyed gymnastics, and she attended James Madison University. She spent 30 years as a real estate agent with Long and Foster where she developed lifelong friendships. Kathi met her husband George at the wedding of her college roommate, Susan Jones (George is her brother). They had an instant connection, a wedding at Big Meadows, Skyline Drive the following year and would have been married 35 years this May. Together they have made many memories and enjoyed many activities together (hiking, camping, biking) and have traveled many places together to include Nova Scotia (honeymoon), Las Vegas, U.S. Virgin Islands, the Amazon River and Peru. They have also enjoyed many family vacations in the Outer Banks. Kathi was dearly loved by her family and will be so greatly missed by all who knew her. The celebration of her life will be held at Miller Funeral Home and the service can be viewed virtually at 11:30AM https://www.facebook.com/miller.f.home/ . The family will receive visitors Wednesday, December 09, 2020 from 9:30AM-11:30AM for the viewing with the chapel service to be held at 11:30AM at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd., Woodbridge, VA 22192. Procession to follow and burial service will be held at Quantico National Cemetery at 1PM, 18424 Joplin Rd, Triangle, VA 22172. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic face masks will be required and we ask that everyone tries to remain 6ft apart.
