Ellen Frances Slaughter, 95, of Woodbridge, Virginia, died April 3, 2022, at Sentara Hospital. Ellen was born on July 22, 1926 in Washington, DC. She retired from The Commonwealth of Virginia as a Fairfax County Public Health Nurse. She was a member of the Dale City Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was baptized in the Atlantic Ocean, with her brother, while they attended the Atlantic City convention in 1951. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Frances Crown and Reba Flossa Crown; her husband, Warren Frank Slaughter, Sr.; her brother William Crown and grandson Alexander Edmond Compton. She is survived by her son Warren Frank Slaughter, Jr. (Michelle) and her granddaughter Shana Nicole Reynolds (Tyler) and grandchildren Shawn, Callie Rae and Carter. Services are scheduled for 10:00 am Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Boulevard, Woodbridge, Virginia 22192. A visitation will be held prior to the service at 9:30 am. Interment will follow at 1:00 pm at Fort Lincoln Cemetery. Warren is requesting donations to the Pediatric Brian Tumor Foundation, 6065 Roswell Road NE, Suite 505, Atlanta, GA 30328 or via their website, http://www.curethekids.org/, in lieu of flowers in Ellen’s memory.
