Diana A. Hobson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Diana A. Hobson, a long-time resident of Lake Ridge, Virginia passed away on October 9, 2019 after a battle with breast cancer at the age of 72. Diana is survived by her loving husband, Bing, and two children, Michelle (Rob) of Manassas, Virginia and Neal (Sarah) of Woodbridge, Virginia. Diana is also survived by her mother, Janine Ashton; sister, Corinne (Dan); sisters-in-law, Susie and Patty; grandsons, Gabriel and Zachary; nieces and nephews, Jacqueline, Julian, Paige, Shannon, and James; and countless cousins in the United States and France. She is preceded in death by her father, Norman Ashton. Diana was born in Coucy-le-Château-Auffrique on September 29, 1947. As the daughter of a Foreign Service Officer, she spent most of her childhood living at various posts across Europe. She met her husband of nearly 50 years while her father was stationed in the Middle East. Diana and Bing were married in June 1970 in Bing’s hometown of Lewistown, Pennsylvania. After living in both Oklahoma and North Carolina, Diana and Bing settled in Eastern Prince William County where they have lived since the late 1970s. Diana loved music, cooking, gardening, knitting, sewing, and traveling, but most of all she loved her family and friends. Her love and support knew no bounds and will be sorely missed. Family services are scheduled for Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Miller Funeral Home at 11:00 AM. A short memorial and burial will follow at Quantico National Cemetery at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in the name of Diana A. Hobson.
