Phan Ngoc Diep

Phan Ngoc Diep Shea passed away peacefully in hospice care on August 17, 2024, at the age of 76. She was born on Oct 5, 1947 in Lai Thieu, Vietnam to Duong Van Phan and Giau Thi Pham. She is 1 of 14 brothers and sisters. She was the 13th. She was preceded by her parents, her husband, and several brothers and sisters and in laws. She is survived by her children, Duncan and Moira, sisters Dung Hermosilla and Anh Le and her husband Liem Le. She is also survived by her brother in law, David Root and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She married Michael Shea in May 18, 1971. Her career ranged from computer programming to full-time mother and wife. She also had her own Vietnamese restaurant while we lived in Chambersburg, PA. We moved to Virginia and this is where mom and dad just planted roots and settled in. She had decided to go back to work to stay busy at a local pizza hut and kfc until she landed her job with Cameron station Commissary. Then she transferred to Ft Belvior and retired at Quantico Commissary in the late 90's. She had numerous hobbies including flowers, plants, any type of orchid. Those were a passion of hers. She loved to decorate cakes, cook, sew, crochet, sing, listen to music, and dancing totally name just a few. She was a member of the Kababayan for years. She loved small dogs and had several over the years. The PWC Shelter was on speed dial. She had a passion for exotic birds and had several African Greys and other parrots and small birds. She was not scared of much but when she saw a small lizard, she would definitely not lose sight of it! She cared about people, wanted to know everyone's story and where they were from and how they were doing. Always asking people if they ate and what could she get for them. She was lovingly known as Momma Shea at her Assisted Living. The family will receive visitors Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 6-8pm at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd., Woodbridge, VA 22192. A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Miller Funeral Home from 11am-12pm with burial to follow at Quantico National Cemetery.
