Michael Henry Kornacki (1966 – 2024) It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Michael (Mike) Henry Kornacki on Thursday, May 16th, 2024. Mike, fondly known to many as Scooter, Mikey, Triple-S and Ter-Ter, was our treasured Husband, Father, Son, and Brother. A beacon of unwavering friendship, affection, and kindness, Mike leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and happy memories to all those he touched on his too short journey in this world. Born on January 31, 1966 in Fairfax in what is perhaps one of the biggest blizzards in Virginia history, Mike was the fourth of four children to Daniel Henry and Joanne Florence (Ruths) Kornacki. A lifelong resident of Woodbridge, Mike attended Woodbridge High School and graduated in 1985. Mike was an accomplished outdoorsman, he loved to hunt, fish, be on the beach, and camp. He also had a superb green thumb which he acquired from his beloved Mother and could grow just about anything in his multiple gardens. A master griller, gold panning, golfing, and eating were his favorite pastimes, particularly eating Virginia Blue Crabs, his favorite dish. But above all, Mike cherished his most important job as Father and Husband. And, in spite of his parents, wife, and big brothers, Mike was also a diehard Cowboys fan (as is his sister and son). How ‘bout dem BOYS! Predeceased by his parents, Mike leaves behind his lovely and devoted wife, Tami (Mercer) Kornacki, his son, Dustin. Brothers and sisters, Dan Kornacki (Lee Ann), Alec Kornacki (Liz), Karen (Kornacki) Miller (Tommy), Becky (Mercer) Horrocks (Bernie), and Donna Cayabyab. He also leaves behind many Nieces, Nephews, and Great Nieces and Nephews who will miss their Uncle Ter-Ter tremendously, along with countless friends who felt his warmth, humor, and love. Visitation will be on June 1st from 11:00 am - 12:00 at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd., Woodbridge, VA 22192, followed by a Service of Remembrance at noon. Interment at Mount Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria, VA at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sentara Heart and Vascular Center for their endless care, support and friendship to Michael. Donors will have the option to select a tribute ("in memory" of Michael Kornacki and "in honor" of the Heart and Vascular Department) online but will need to include that info in the check memo for mailed-in donations.
