Leonetta Leah Davis

Leonetta Leah Davis, age 69, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Monday, October 27th, 2025 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia. From her birth in Chicago, Illinois on March 8th 1956, to her passing on Monday, she nourished people around her with Love, Faith, and amazing Italian cooking. She was born to George and Mary Pesce, and was the oldest of their four beautiful children. After her birth in Chicago, Leah was raised on the scenic Adriatic Coast in Mola di Bari, Italy before moving to the tropical paradise of Panama with her family. At sixteen, Leah and her family moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina where she continued her education graduating from East Carolina University with a Bachelor's degree in Education. After college, Leah lived with her family in Okinawa, Japan before moving back to the United States and settling in Woodbridge, VA. It was here that Leah met her loving husband, Jim Davis, and started their family of five children. Leah had a deep love for nature, fostered by the travels of her youth seeing the beauty of creation. She shared this love with her friends and family on trips to parks and the beach, where she relished being near the ocean. She took great joy in fishing, especially the opportunity to cook and eat the catch of the day. Driven by a deep, enduring devotion to the Lord through her faith, Leah led a charismatic prayer group for many years and passionately ministered to the youth in her community. Her greatest joy was caring for those around her, as she always had with her siblings, friends, children, and especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late George and Mary Pesce. Leah is survived by her husband Jim; children MaryCarol, Merritt, George, Anna, and Samuel; and her three grandchildren. Leah lived a full and exciting life, filled with good food, family, and a strong love for Jesus. Leah will be remembered as an amazing Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and a bright light to everyone around her. A visitation will be held at Miller Funeral home Sunday, November 2nd from 2 pm to 6 pm. Funeral Mass is being held on Monday, November 3rd at 12:30pm at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church. Her burial will follow at Bacon Race Cemetery.
