Delward Jackson Coleman

On Friday June 5, 2020, Delward Jackson Coleman, loving son, brother father, and life partner departed at the age of 36. Delward was born to Edward Jackson Sanford and Delores Vinell Coleman Sanford. He graduated from T. C. Williams Senior High School in 2001. He attended Northern Virginia Community College in Alexandria, Virginia. While living in Alexandria, Virginia he attended church at Love International Church in Springfield, Virginia. Delward was passionate about helping others and always kept a positive and encouraging attitude towards anyone who knew him. He loved spending time with his four beautiful children and hanging out with family while, cooking, and listening to music with his nephews and other family members. Del worked as a Direct Support Professional at Provident Way, LLC. He had a close bond with his co-workers and clients. Some of his clients called him “Daddy Del.” Del was truly dedicated to the people he worked with and loved the work he performed. He always went above and beyond for his clients. Del was affectionately referred to by his family as Pooty and so many other loving/fun names. He was the life of the party and illuminated every place he entered with his infectious smile-grin combo and laugh. Del was a jokester and an all-around loving and genuine guy. He never gave his family an ounce of trouble and preferred nothing more than sharing laughs with family and friends. Del had a servant’s heart and would never hesitate to lend a helping hand. He will truly be missed and always in our hearts. He is survived by his parents Edward & Delores Sanford, three children Jeremiah, Jazmine, Jessiah Coleman, India Stackhouse (Fiancée and mother of his children), a bonus daughter, Kyra Hillmon, three siblings, Jennifer Dorn (brother-in-law, Alan Dorn), Mary Coleman, and Kimberly Ajide (brother-in-law, Olushola Adjide), and a host of Nieces and Nephews.A memorial service will be held in the Miller Funeral Home, Woodbridge, VA on Thursday June 18, 2020 by the Pastor Decker Tapscott. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Memorial Park.
