Concetta Teel-Jones

On May 21, 2025, Concetta Teel-Jones (a.k.a. Connie) transitioned to her final resting place to be with her Heavenly Father. Connie was born on February 23, 1967, to Ronald and Ada Teel in Alexandria, VA. She started obtaining her education through the Fairfax County Public School System in Gum Springs, VA attending the Mount Vernon Woods Elementary School before transferring to the Prince William County Public School System: Neabsco Elementary, Woodbridge Middle, and Gar-Field Senior High where she graduated in 1986. Connie worked many jobs in Fairfax and Prince William counties. She worked as a food service employee with United Airlines in Sterling, VA and taught special education children in Prince William County School System. Her greatest joy was working with young aged children. Through her early adult years, she was baptized at Woodlawn United Methodist Church, now known as Woodlawn Faith United Methodist Church. She always enjoyed singing with the Carter Gospel Singers as one of the main lead singers; her favorite song “By and By”. She sang in many choirs: Inspirational, Youth & Young Adult, and Mass. Connie was part of many ministries within her church: in 2021, she was the choir director for the Youth, Points of Light, Women’s and the Second Sunday Gospel Choirs. She became the President of the United Women in Faith ministry where she served for 3 years. She loved to throw parties and get-togethers. She enjoyed eating crabs and shrimp with her family and friends. She enjoyed taking bus trips to many destinations. She truly enjoyed fine dining. Connie was preceded in death by her sister Melinda White-Jones; Connie is survived by her husband Kevin Jones, Sr. of Petersburg, VA; three children: Shavon Teel-White (Maurice), Keaira Jones and one son, Kevin Doniel Jones, Jr. all of Dumfries, VA; her grandchildren Liliana Kpakio and Zion White; her Godchildren, Makai Dewitt, Joecelia Railey, Aaron Scruggs, and Lorene Sherman; her parents, Ronald and Ada Jean Teel of Winterville, NC; two sisters, Donna Lisa Teel-Scruggs (Thaddeus) of Woodbridge, VA and Jessica Yvette Goode of Richmond, VA; one brother, Kelvin Lowell Teel, Sr. (Maria) of Dale City, VA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
