Beulah Green

Beulah Green, 84, of Woodbridge Virginia, formerly of Butler Missouri, passed away peacefully September 1st, 2020. Beulah was one of eleven children born to Edward and Oca Hartford. Beulah loved to read and would never be without a good book. She loved family, enjoyed a good road trip, and was always finding things she thought others would enjoy. Beulah was employed for many years at Cornell University in the food services department. Later, while a resident of Butler, Missouri, she was employed by Bates County Memorial hospital until she retired in 1994. During retirement she enjoyed spending time with her siblings, volunteering with different organizations, and even more reading. She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church of Woodbridge. She was also a member of the Military Order of the Cootie Auxiliary, whose mission is to “keep them smiling in beds of white”. She is survived by her siblings Margaret Palomares of Woodbridge, VA, Clara Ameigh of Des Moines, IA, and Cliff E. Hartford of Stafford, VA. She is also survived by her children, Dora Chaffee of Rose, Oklahoma, Jeff Chaffee of Des Moines, Iowa, Victoria Hartford and spouse Jack of Springfield, Missouri, Andrew Green and spouse Stacy of Ballard, Missouri, along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren and many other loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents - Edward and Oca; her sisters - Shirley, Jean, and Helen; and her brothers -Bob, Clayton, Freddy, and Kenny. There will be no services per her request and in lieu of flowers the family request donations to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. The family would also like to say a special thanks to her sister Margaret for all the care and love she provided, especially during Beulah’s final days. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. ~ 1 Thessalonians 4:14-17
