Deborah Ann Couture

Deborah Ann (Keller) Couture was born April 29, 1952 in Washington, D.C. before she and her parents, Dorothy and Jack, and brother Patrick, moved to Bristow, Virginia. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 17, 2024. She was raised in Bristow and graduated from Brentsville District High School in 1970. She graduated from George Mason University and worked at a Sears store where she met and fell in love with Richard Albert Couture. He proposed at Seashore State Park in Virginia Beach which was the future location of many family and friend trips. They married September 10, 1977 at St Michael’s Church in Annandale, VA, had 4 children together and settled in Dale City, VA in 1988. She worked as a social worker then as a preschool teacher for many years at Epiphany Lutheran Preschool in Dale City, VA. She volunteered throughout her life through La Leche League, Girl Scouts, as a youth soccer coach, in her children’s and grandchildren’s classrooms, and was a religious education teacher. She was very active at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manassas, Virginia, including leading the Seniors group. Debbie had a talent for being able to talk to anyone about anything. She loved taking care of people, visiting the beach, wineries, travel, sports, and celebrating holidays. She always celebrated life. She gave her time and energy cooking meals for the homeless shelter for the past 20 years and helped serve at funerals. She was the longest- serving board member for the Platelet Disorder Support Association. She was always willing to give her time and support to a worthy cause. She will be greatly missed by her family and the many friends she made throughout her life. She is survived by her husband, Richard; four children- Jessica, Christopher, Sarah, and Carrie (her husband, Andres); three grandchildren- Callie, Anthony, and Natalie; and her brother Patrick. She was preceded in death by her parents and Dominic, her grandson. Please join us in celebrating Debbie’s wonderful life. The wake will be held Monday, October 28 from 7pm - 9pm at Miller Funeral Home (3200 Golansky Blvd Woodbridge, VA). The Funeral Mass with burial and reception to follow will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Tuesday October 29 at 1pm (12975 Purcell Rd Manassas, VA).
