 Obituary for Maj. Michael E. Warholak, Jr.

Age 81, of Woodbridge, died May 24, 2010 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington D.C.  Soon after graduating from Warren Harding High School, Bridgeport, CT., Major Warholak enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam.  While in the Corps, he attained the status of Distinguished Expert Marksman and won many State and National Rifle Matches.  After retirement, he continued his career with the government and became a firearms instructor with the D.E.A. and F.B.I., and attended George Washington University.  He belonged to the V.F.W., Post 1503, Knights of Columbus, Marine Corps Distinguished Shooters Assoc., as well as many other military and fraternal organizations.  He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Dale City.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael  Warholak Sr. and Margaret (Royko) Warholak, brothers, Joseph and Stephen, and sisters Mary and Margaret.  He is survived by his son Michael and granddaughter Rachel, several nieces and nephews and his faithful companion, Pugsly.  Family will receive friends on Friday, June 4, 2010 from 6 to 8pm at Miller Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 10:30am at Holy Family Catholic Church.  Interment will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Arlington National Cemetery for 1pm.
