Mary Andrews, 77

Mary Andrews, a loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on February 2, 2013 at home in Lake Ridge, VA. Surviving are her devoted husband of 56 years, Burk, four married children, Kevin, Sherryl, Robert and Gregory, three daughters-in-law, Katherine, Elizabeth, Amani, and a son-in-law David, and nine grandchildren, Mawra, Mary, Rebecca, Rachel, Nicholas, Alexandra, Christopher, Cameron and Ahmad, and numerous relatives.

Burk met Mary on a blind date at the University of Virginia while Mary was pursuing her nursing degree and Burk was attending graduate school. They married in 1956 at Quantico, VA, the day after Burk was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps, and endured with grace the following difficult 22 years of a military career.

Mary worked as a Public Health nurse while her husband served in Viet Nam, and later assisted in the opening of the Potomac Hospital and later was employed at Potomac Hospital for the next 32 years. She was a member of the local Barbara Bush Republican Women's Club, and active in Nativity of Our Lord Orthodox Church in Manassas, VA.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 9PM February 6, 2013 at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd, Woodbridge, VA. Religious services will be held at Nativity of Our Lord Orthodox Church, 8911 Weems Road, Manassas, VA 20110 at 10AM February 7, 2013. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery, time and date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Nativity of Our Lord Orthodox Church in Mary's name.
