Of Dale City, VA, passed peacefully away on August 14, 2012 following an extended illness.  Barbara was born in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Howard Deacon and Doris Gibbs of New Jersey.

Barbara was a dedicated employee of AAFES for over 20 years, where her extended family continued to grow.  She was also a devoted wife, mother, and friend.  Barbara was a loving and amazing person who always took time for those around her.  She was always willing to help in any way that she could.  She enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, reading and being a tireless and dedicated friend to all.

Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Meredith W. Anthony, her brother-in-law Preston E. Anthony and sister-in-law Bernie Anthony of Denver, CO, her children, Patricia Elaine Anthony of Huntsville, AL; Frederick Troy Anthony and his wife Candace Anderson of Dale City VA.  Her grandchildren Shauna J. Anderson, Brooke Anthony-Robinson, Bryce W. Jefferson, Blair J. Anthony and Mikayla A. Anthony.  Her niece Brenda Deacon of Brooklyn, NY.  Her great niece Jae Deacon of Brooklyn, NY.  Her cousins Leonardo "Kiki" Garcia (Andrea Garcia), Lisa Garcia, Li'Esha Garcia, Erica Garcia, Sylver Garcia, Andre Garcia and Leonardo Garcia, Jr. along with a host of relatives and dear friends.
