Raymond E. Wiley, 68
Raymond Wiley, age 68, of Woodbridge, Virginia, went to be with his Lord on March 9, 2018, surrounded by those who loved him at the Sentara Medical Center, Woodbridge. Mr. Wiley will always be remembered for his generous heart and love of others.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1503, and served in the Army during the Viet Nam War. In March 2007, he retired from his position as Chief, Transportation and Environmental Services, City of Alexandria, Virginia, with 35 years of outstanding service.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Ruth (Emmons) Wiley and Harry J. Wiley of Scarborough, Maine. He is survived by Gloria Wiley, his wife of 48 years, Woodbridge; his daughter, Diana (Wiley) Poythress, wife of Brandon Poythress, of Newport News, Virginia; his son, Brian Wiley, of Woodbridge; and his two brothers, James Hennigar and David Wiley of Titusville, Florida.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 16, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with a service at 11:30 a.m. at the Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Boulevard, Woodbridge. Interment will follow immediately at the Quantico National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.org. The Wounded Warrior Project provides free programs and services to address the needs of wounded warriors and fill gaps in government care.
